Misled Jews of Venezuela

Venezuelan Jews look to boost solidarity with Israel

"Aliya is an old word, it does not have the same meaning today as it used to...".

Freddie Pressner should be fired as "president of the Confederation of Jewish Associations of Venezuela." He's unworthy of the position. Aliyah is an ever new word, only "old" to those who have grown dull of hearing and don't want to be reminded that Jews Should Follow Judaism to Israel! With "leaders" like Freddie Pressner, no wonder so many Jews are being lost to assimilation.

A Jewish Homeland is the only legitimate homeland for Jews. May Freddie Pressner have a change of heart and move in the direction of aliyah to Israel, setting an example for others to follow.

President Bush's Speech

I've just listened to our president, George W. Bush, tell us what we already know: he refuses to enforce American law; he wants virtual amnesty under guise of a deceitful "guest worker program" - he asks Americans not to resort to what the illegal demonstrators have already done - in our face - regarding political manipulation, hostility, race exploitation, etc.

As the Promised Land of Manasseh, the son of Joseph - with all our birthright blessing being sold out to foreigners - this is a sad day in the United States when our president refuses to do whatever is necessary to uphold our laws - not bend them to accommodate criminals who are not "guests," having never been invited into OUR country that we're losing....

German-American Israelites?

"Born German, Made American" by Nicholas Kumanoff in The Atlantic Times, reveals how "to prove their patriotism, immigrants abandoned their old identities." Following "a virulent anti-German sentiment" that spread to several states, German language classes in school were banned, German books burned in the streets, frankfurters became hot dogs and sauerkraut became "liberty cabbage."

Anyone with a German name was suspect and subject to harassment. The American Defense Society announced that a German-American, "unless known by years of association to be absolutely loyal, should be treated as a potential spy."

This reminds me of how when I was 18 I told my Grandma Hoover I was going to the German-American Festival. I was visiting Grandpa and Grandma (Arthur and Vivian Hoover) on our farm in Risingsun, Ohio. She said, "Why are you going? You're not German." I said our name was German (even though it's been Anglicized). She snapped, "You're English. Your grandfather has a parent of pure English heritage" and something to the effect that her family also had such English ties (and we're clearly traced to England and Ireland, as well as Scotland on my mother's side). I replied that you didn't have to be German to attend the German-American Festival anyway.

I brought this incident up to my great Aunt, Neva Scoviac, Grandma Hoover's sister, during a visit to her home in Hudson, Michigan several years ago (Grandma died in 1980) and she said we're German. Grandma and Aunt Neva's maiden name is Ort - Pennsylvania Dutch - German. (I vaguely remember Grandma saying something about the Pennsylvania Dutch a long time ago, but then I thought it just meant Dutch - not Deutsche).

Aunt Neva served as a nurse during WWII and her brothers, my great uncles, served in the Philippines. Aunt Neva said after the war, especially when "we heard all the horrible stories" about what went on during the war, the Holocaust, you didn't want to be known as German or associated with Germany. She feels that's why Grandma was so adamant that we are English.

As one who believes in the Israelite origins of the West, the Hebrew roots of the Anglo-Saxons and white peoples of Northwestern Europe, I can see the hand of God in this disassociation from Gentile Germany. I can perceive Divine Providence playing its prophetic part in having sifted the Israelite tribes, specifically Manasseh the son of Joseph, through Germany and separating us from those who truly are Assyrian-Germans, literally distancing us from those Germans who remained behind, bringing us into this Promised Land of the United States, taking on a new identity, an American one, actually restoring our identity as Manasseh with our brethren - the "Lost Ten Tribes" - who emigrated from other countries where they had sojourned, through great works as The United States and Britain in Prophecy by Herbert W. Armstrong.

May God bless the United States of America, the biblical inheritance of the Tribe of Manasseh. And may God bless Germany to work with us and not against us as they lead the European Union.

Shelby Steele: White Guilt and the Western Past

This excellent article by Shelby Steele, a brave black American man, underscores the CURSE that we are experiencing for disobedience, a broken will, half-hearted efforts, just as prophesied: "And I will break the pride of your power..." (Leviticus 26:19).

"And I will break the pride of your power..." doesn't only mean we would begin to lose battles or wars, but that we would lose confidence in our God-given power and moral authority to pursue justice with all of our might, to right the wrong, to defend our land and loved ones without apology; to break the pride in our power means that we would begin to hesitate and so become lost in chaos and confusion, bogged down in bemuddled thinking, unsure of ourselves, no clear sense of purpose, no clarity of mind and mission. In effect, we would become ashamed of our power and begin to retreat, in essence, by FEELING GUILTY for having dared to use it! The retreat is fast becoming a rout.

May God bless our Israelite family of nations to confess and forsake our NATIONAL SINS that we may reverse the curse of political and military confusion (Daniel 9:11); that God may restore our minds as we restore His law and order in our lands and lives.

White Guilt and the Western Past
Why is America so delicate with the enemy?

BY SHELBY STEELE
Tuesday, May 2, 2006 12:01 a.m. EDT
There is something rather odd in the way America has come to fight its wars since World War II.

For one thing, it is now unimaginable that we would use anything approaching the full measure of our military power (the nuclear option aside) in the wars we fight. And this seems only reasonable given the relative weakness of our Third World enemies in Vietnam and in the Middle East. But the fact is that we lost in Vietnam, and today, despite our vast power, we are only slogging along--if admirably--in Iraq against a hit-and-run insurgency that cannot stop us even as we seem unable to stop it. Yet no one--including, very likely, the insurgents themselves--believes that America lacks the raw power to defeat this insurgency if it wants to. So clearly it is America that determines the scale of this war. It is America, in fact, that fights so as to make a little room for an insurgency.

Certainly since Vietnam, America has increasingly practiced a policy of minimalism and restraint in war. And now this unacknowledged policy, which always makes a space for the enemy, has us in another long and rather passionless war against a weak enemy.

Why this new minimalism in war?
It began, I believe, in a late-20th-century event that transformed the world more profoundly than the collapse of communism: the world-wide collapse of white supremacy as a source of moral authority, political legitimacy and even sovereignty. This idea had organized the entire world, divided up its resources, imposed the nation-state system across the globe, and delivered the majority of the world's population into servitude and oppression. After World War II, revolutions across the globe, from India to Algeria and from Indonesia to the American civil rights revolution, defeated the authority inherent in white supremacy, if not the idea itself. And this defeat exacted a price: the West was left stigmatized by its sins. Today, the white West--like Germany after the Nazi defeat--lives in a kind of secular penitence in which the slightest echo of past sins brings down withering condemnation. There is now a cloud over white skin where there once was unquestioned authority.

I call this white guilt not because it is a guilt of conscience but because people stigmatized with moral crimes--here racism and imperialism--lack moral authority and so act guiltily whether they feel guilt or not.

They struggle, above all else, to dissociate themselves from the past sins they are stigmatized with. When they behave in ways that invoke the memory of those sins, they must labor to prove that they have not relapsed into their group's former sinfulness. So when America--the greatest embodiment of Western power--goes to war in Third World Iraq, it must also labor to dissociate that action from the great Western sin of imperialism. Thus, in Iraq we are in two wars, one against an insurgency and another against the past--two fronts, two victories to win, one military, the other a victory of dissociation.

The collapse of white supremacy--and the resulting white guilt--introduced a new mechanism of power into the world: stigmatization with the evil of the Western past. And this stigmatization is power because it affects the terms of legitimacy for Western nations and for their actions in the world. In Iraq, America is fighting as much for the legitimacy of its war effort as for victory in war. In fact, legitimacy may be the more important goal. If a military victory makes us look like an imperialist nation bent on occupying and raping the resources of a poor brown nation, then victory would mean less because it would have no legitimacy. Europe would scorn. Conversely, if America suffered a military loss in Iraq but in so doing dispelled the imperialist stigma, the loss would be seen as a necessary sacrifice made to restore our nation's legitimacy. Europe's halls of internationalism would suddenly open to us.

Because dissociation from the racist and imperialist stigma is so tied to legitimacy in this age of white guilt, America's act of going to war can have legitimacy only if it seems to be an act of social work--something that uplifts and transforms the poor brown nation (thus dissociating us from the white exploitations of old). So our war effort in Iraq is shrouded in a new language of social work in which democracy is cast as an instrument of social transformation bringing new institutions, new relations between men and women, new ideas of individual autonomy, new and more open forms of education, new ways of overcoming poverty--war as the Great Society.

This does not mean that President Bush is insincere in his desire to bring democracy to Iraq, nor is it to say that democracy won't ultimately be socially transformative in Iraq. It's just that today the United States cannot go to war in the Third World simply to defeat a dangerous enemy.

White guilt makes our Third World enemies into colored victims, people whose problems--even the tyrannies they live under--were created by the historical disruptions and injustices of the white West. We must "understand" and pity our enemy even as we fight him. And, though Islamic extremism is one of the most pernicious forms of evil opportunism that has ever existed, we have felt compelled to fight it with an almost managerial minimalism that shows us to be beyond the passions of war--and thus well dissociated from the avariciousness of the white supremacist past.

Anti-Americanism, whether in Europe or on the American left, works by the mechanism of white guilt. It stigmatizes America with all the imperialistic and racist ugliness of the white Western past so that America becomes a kind of straw man, a construct of Western sin. (The Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons were the focus of such stigmatization campaigns.) Once the stigma is in place, one need only be anti-American in order to be "good," in order to have an automatic moral legitimacy and power in relation to America. (People as seemingly disparate as President Jacques Chirac and the Rev. Al Sharpton are devoted pursuers of the moral high ground to be had in anti-Americanism.) This formula is the most dependable source of power for today's international left. Virtue and power by mere anti-Americanism. And it is all the more appealing since, unlike real virtues, it requires no sacrifice or effort--only outrage at every slight echo of the imperialist past.

Today words like "power" and "victory" are so stigmatized with Western sin that, in many quarters, it is politically incorrect even to utter them. For the West, "might" can never be right. And victory, when won by the West against a Third World enemy, is always oppression. But, in reality, military victory is also the victory of one idea and the defeat of another. Only American victory in Iraq defeats the idea of Islamic extremism. But in today's atmosphere of Western contrition, it is impolitic to say so.

America and the broader West are now going through a rather tender era, a time when Western societies have very little defense against the moral accusations that come from their own left wings and from those vast stretches of nonwhite humanity that were once so disregarded.
Europeans are utterly confounded by the swelling Muslim populations in their midst. America has run from its own mounting immigration problem for decades, and even today, after finally taking up the issue, our government seems entirely flummoxed. White guilt is a vacuum of moral authority visited on the present by the shames of the past. In the abstract it seems a slight thing, almost irrelevant, an unconvincing proposition. Yet a society as enormously powerful as America lacks the authority to ask its most brilliant, wealthy and superbly educated minority students to compete freely for college admission with poor whites who lack all these things. Just can't do it.

Whether the problem is race relations, education, immigration or war, white guilt imposes so much minimalism and restraint that our worst problems tend to linger and deepen. Our leaders work within a double bind. If they do what is truly necessary to solve a problem--win a war, fix immigration--they lose legitimacy.

To maintain their legitimacy, they practice the minimalism that makes problems linger. What but minimalism is left when you are running from stigmatization as a "unilateralist cowboy"? And where is the will to truly regulate the southern border when those who ask for this are slimed as bigots? This is how white guilt defines what is possible in America. You go at a problem until you meet stigmatization, then you retreat into minimalism.

Possibly white guilt's worst effect is that it does not permit whites--and nonwhites--to appreciate something extraordinary: the fact that whites in America, and even elsewhere in the West, have achieved a truly remarkable moral transformation. One is forbidden to speak thus, but it is simply true. There are no serious advocates of white supremacy in America today, because whites see this idea as morally repugnant. If there is still the odd white bigot out there surviving past his time, there are millions of whites who only feel goodwill toward minorities.

This is a fact that must be integrated into our public life--absorbed as new history--so that America can once again feel the moral authority to seriously tackle its most profound problems. Then, if we decide to go to war, it can be with enough ferocity to win.

Mr. Steele, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, is author, most recently, of "White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era," published this week by HarperCollins.

Israel Independence Day/ Yom Ha'Atzmaut

Beit El´s Rabbi: Independence Day - A Day for Expressing Joy
18:15 May 02, '06 / 4 Iyar 5766
by Hillel Fendel

Rabbi Zalman Melamed - Rabbi of Beit El and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arutz Sheva - delivers a message of happiness for the upcoming Independence Day, despite the State's shortcomings.

Israel's Independence Day is generally celebrated as a joyous religious holiday of thanksgiving in yeshivot and synagogues around the country and the world. Rabbi Melamed [pictured above], one of the leading rabbis in the national-religious public, was asked if our joy should be lessened this year because of the government's destruction of the Jewish communities in Gush Katif. His response was published in the Kumi Ori pamphlet of the Komemiyut organization. Excerpts:

"Our teacher and rabbi, Rav Tzvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook, taught us to distinguish between the government and the State. The establishment of the State opened the gates of the Land of Israel - leading to the Ingathering of the Exiles, the return of the Torah center to the Land, the expansion and stabilization of settlement in the Land of Israel, and continued Aliyah (immigration). All this is because we have a state. There are restrictions here and there, and there are places where we have to struggle, but in general, our bonds with the Land of Israel continue to get stronger. The Land is being built up in the Galilee and the Negev, the Sharon and the Shomron, and elsewhere. All this is a result of our independence.

"We are therefore obligated to thank the Master of the Universe for the good He has bestowed upon us, and for releasing us from the yoke of the nations and enabling us to open the gates of our Land to great Aliyah, and to build ourselves without being influenced by the nations abroad. The percentage of assimilation in the Diaspora is simply catastrophic. This means that our very presence together in the Land of Israel helps strengthen our spiritual status.

"We have criticism of the government's actions, at which we are very angry, and it is hard to simply pass over them. We are also angry, to some extent, at the army and police which carried out this terrible and criminal expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif. But the very existence of the State is a Divine gift on our way to our Redemption, and we have to thank G-d and rejoice in this. "

Asked his opinion about the late Rabbi Shaul Yisraeli's post-Oslo proposal to add a black ribbon to the Israeli flag, Rabbi Melamed said:

"I don't like sadness. I like being happy. I see every difficulty as being a challenge to greater advancement. I understand the feeling, and the fact is that a great rabbi did this during the Oslo period. As for me, I don't have a tendency to express my sadness on this day, but rather the joy and my feeling of thanks to Hashem for His goodness. We have enough sorrow, maybe too much. We have to see the good and the positive, and to view hardships as challenges that will bring only good.

"There is no doubt that even the Gush Katif crisis will strengthen us and our hold on the Land of Israel. We don't see this now, but the good will most certainly come. I like Rabbi Akiva's viewpoint, who smiled when he saw the Roman destruction of Jerusalem - for he knew that out of the destruction would sprout Redemption."

Rabbi Melamed said he understands the negative feelings that come to the fore on this day, but "we don't mourn for the Temple during the Passover seder, and we don't celebrate the Exodus from Egypt on the fast of Tisha B'Av. There is a time for everything, and today is a time for celebration and thanks."
********************************

Israelis, Jews and Christian-Zionists worldwide ought to give thanks to God for fulfilling His promises to restore Judah first to our ancient Jewish homeland, the Promised Land of Israel, to be followed in God's good time by the "Lost Ten Tribes."

May all love Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel, so much that other than mere lip service, may the same Israelis, Jews and Christian-Zionists offer their lives as living sacrifices of praise, by confessing and forsaking those personal and national sins that we are warned will lead to foreign occupation of the Holy Land again that Israel may remain free to change, to live and prosper and to fulfill its Manifest Destiny to become a "light to all nations," so help us God.

May Israelis celebrate and contemplate.

Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall offers the GOOD NEWS that Israel doesn't have to get stomped by the EU jackboot if we have a change of heart and direction. May we celebrate this fact and express our independence from the ways of this world, Egypt, to be free to serve the God of Israel and uphold His constitution: the holy Bible.

Ten Tribes suffer curse of illegal immigration

We must expose the ugly racism of the militant Mexicans, the subversives who hate Anglo-Saxons and seek to pervert our biblical inheritance of Manasseh into something illegitimate and cursed, just another third world country:

Who is Mecha

May 1: Illegal Immigration Day Defused

"How come you quote the Bible in this instance as only being written as affecting the US?"

Since we're experiencing the curse today, I'm bringing attention to these appropriate Scriptures as they apply to the USA today. Of course, they actually do apply to all our British-Israelite countries, our biblical family of nations, as is evident in Israel's problems with Arab terrorists, Rhodesia being perverted into Zimbabwe, South Africa raped by the Communists, etc.

The Time of Jacob's Trouble is rumbling, the gathering Storm accelerates; will we wake up and seek shelter in the God of Israel, the God of the Hebrews, the God of the Bible or suffer defeat and deportation by the fascist EU?
